To my own astonishment, I recently happened to purchase these three bags on a net auction, where they were described as "3 antique double bags, Persia, around 1900, wool on wool". Any ideas of their origin? Do you think the dating is correct?
The suggested date is not unreasonable. Any of these could - in my view - be anywhere from 1900 or so up to the 1940's. Anything is possible, could even be post-WW II, but early 20th century seems likely to me.
Attribution ? Some closeups of the back of the bag faces would be helpful, as structure and materials count. But by simple visual examination, the leftmost piece with the checkerboard quincunx upper border would usually be considered Qashqai. The center piece with the pile that wraps around the bottom edge, probably Kurdish, maybe from Veramin, and the rightmost ? Uncertain but south Persian seems sensible.
Others may have different ideas, we'll have to see who else speaks up.
