Find below examples Turkmen of borders which seem kindered of the triangle motive evident in the palas border.











Notice the similarity of this kochak border to



the drawing of this minor gul and



this minor gul. Let's not forget this twelve triangle banner gul either.

Could the motive in this elem, a double kochak/chemche,
be an analog?

Dear David,

I have a small carpet with Ersari-type main guls. The minor guls are analagous, and almost identical to the border design in your first set of examples above.

Thank you for the image. I realize that none of these similarities
in and by themselves substantiate anything, but there seems to be a relationship, if by nothing other than symmetry.
