CD-ROM of Mushkat Tent Bands
Jerry,
In the threads that were hacked to death you had mentioned a CD ROM of Fred Mushkat's Tent Band exhibition for
those who attended ACOR. Would there be some way for those of us who weren't able to break loose from indentured
servitude in Washington to get a copy of the CD ROM? I would be happy to pay whatever you think is a fair price.
I saw a good selection of the bands at a Saturday morning lecture at the Washington Textile Museum and would like
to have whatever documentary product came out of ACOR.

Reaching decisions during the summer is difficult. The ACOR
Board hasn't met to discuss this yet...and won't until August 1. Then I'll know more about whether there will be
a CD-ROM; and if so, what it will cost for people who didn't register for ACOR6.
As for Fred Mushkat's bands, he took the pictures himself - with loving care and attention. They are very good
considering there was no studio lighting.
I'll keep you up-dated.

There is a little more to report here. Fred personally approached me toward the end of ACOR, indicating that he
was interested in hosting a Turkotek salon on his band exhibition. I think he likely spoke to Steve as well. So
I think at some point we will see this material here.
And Jerry is right. Fred had some very high tech photographic equipment that he had used on his exhibition and
despite the lighting and how difficult bands are to photograph effectively, he will likely have some pretty good
images for us.
One caution: Fred is something of a perfectionist and may take some time preparing a salon that he is prepared
to take public. And with our one salon per month schedule things will go more slowly.

R. John Howe
John,
Many thanks for posting the information. Judging by the presentation at the TM--which I think you might have missed--it
will be a salon worth waiting for.
Thanks again, regard to all, Ken
ACOR photos and bands
At ACOR, Jerry Silverman and I did the best we could with a
very limited time schedule to try to document the three exhibitions. Unfortunately, about nine of my digital photos
did not have good lighting, but this may be correctable. Meanwhile, I have sent the 140 images to the ACOR board
to decide how next to proceed. I will try to work with the few images with dark corners to improve the quality
of the images.
I have been contemplating a book on bands for some time, and after a few more prods from several people at ACOR,
I have begun this project. I have an idea for a forum or two, and will try to get something together for discussion.
