Dear all,

Michael wondered (in another thread) where the kilims are.
Maybe this one. I'm not sure. It has age.
Have a look and speculate away.

Some detail images on next pages.

Did this in between time. So maybe the images aren't that perfect. Hope this doesn't discourage you.

Best regards,
Vincent

Dear Vincent:

Thanks. This kilim looks to be of the same structure as those bags that Patrick made reference to in connection with the apron of plate 164, Oriental Rugs From Pacific Collections. This would be either single or double interlocked tapestry and is seen clearly at the color changes. From the front it looks like it could also be dovetailing so perhaps you could add a detail of the back at a color change?

Thanks again, michael

Ooops,

Before Marla kicks me.
The fringe isn't braided, it's Macrame or as Marla calls it: knotted meshwork. I think.
Yesterday I received her book.Phphphiiiieeuuu! You'll be hearing again from me somewhere next year, then I'll know all there is to know.

Sorry for the mistake,
Vincent
