sprice@hsc.vcu.edu Dear People, Patrick's title sent me scurrying to the dictionary. Crepuscule? Is it a misspelling of a cell in the blood? Something between a teenager's zit and a full blown boil? As a service to those no more literate than me: the word means "twilight". And, I should add, Patrick's opening sentence rockets him into the lead in the competition for Turkotek's annual Alliteration Award. Happy Father's Day to all for whom it is appropriate! jpweil00@gte.net Steve, No, Crepuscule is not the larvae of the carpet moth, either. I first encountered the word Crepuscule while listening to the music of Thelonious Sphere Monk. He wrote a song with that word in the title for his wife, Crepuscule With Nellie, while she was in the hospital with a serious illness. Carpets are not as serious as the illness of a loved one, but the word does have relevance to the time of day when you can spare a few minutes to walk the dog, read a book, pick a flower or take a closer look at some of your rugs.
