Dear Friends, Turkotek has a number of objectives. One of these is to help
us learn and to make us think about some of the things we know and love in
ways that we hadn't before. In this Salon I attempted to direct our
attention to the backs of tribal bags. This is an element that is widely
ignored, although I think nearly every collector knew that some of them
could be very beautiful or interesting. There isn't much to summarize,
although some very nice examples were introduced and there was some
discussion of the existence of other aesthetically interesting things that
are normally hidden from view or not easily seen. Thanks for your
