(1) It is amazing how similar this rug is to that depicted in RugLore.
(2) Contrary to the concept that the Talish is a finely woven rug, my research indicated that the weave was between 860 and 1600 knots per square decimeter. It also seemed that the older the piece, the coarser it is. This appears true of many Caucasian rugs. My own has 920.
Lastly, but not least, my Talish has the supplementary wefts usually only associated with this ilk.
