Dear people,

Here is the image of Vincent's "anahit".

Steve Price

: Dear all,
: I think it's Caucasian. The rug gives me a Chinese
: feeling. It's well known that the Caucasus looked at
: China for symbols and design. Can't it be that the
: local production was more colorful then the exported
: rugs. Did we want Caucasian rugs with a Chinese color
: scheme in our 18th/19th century European houses?
: I don't think so.
: In the Caucasus it was common to have a table-rug so
: it had to be very pliable. The rugs we know aren't pliable and have a tight, dense knot-count. The rugs we
: know are more transparent in design, the way we liked it. This rug is made to be the most beautiful rug in the world, the whole field is filled up with symbols. The
: jewellery possesses the same busy quality, and since it is a womans job to make a rug for own purpose, she makes it "beautiful".
: I have an image off a yellow ground Caucasian rug. A Turkish dealer called it an "Anahit" wich is an Armenian girls name and a Goddess. But I don't know how to post it. Help me!

: Regards, Vincent
