Dear People,

Harry and Sophia both raise the vexatious issue of who gets to decide what's good and what isn't. That's a really sticky one, especially since it is unstable over time. One of the reasons I restricted my discussion to the factors of skill, time and materials required to make the work of art is that these are easier to agree on and, to a first approximation, quantifiable.

Hearing the input from the artist's side of the fence is particularly enlightening.
