it is difficult to keep from laughing at the two responses listed below and their rather curious quality does surely reinforce the point of my post.
mr wenddorf accuses me of anonymous posting and failing to practise what i preach. both of these critisms are absurd for i am the founder of WAMRI and the email address is for WAMRI and of course i would place the cyr/khan rug in any continuum of such pieces - just at the end, as it is the last of the Mohicans so to speak.
mr abit asks us to relate the same rug to the pazaryk carpet and to him i can only say that these two carpets have only one thing in common - they are both made of wool.
thanks for the memories
and all the best

: after perusing this board i am curious and ask -
: do you guys really enjoy this?
: can't you realize that C14 has no relevance in the dating of oriental rugs?
: the labs that do this work need the business and they are just as much in the dark as you rug collectors!
: the only reliable method available at this point is comparative analysis of similar pieces to create a continuum -
: please start using your energies in a more realistic way that might really provide something useful for oriental rug studies
