Because of the Holiday, Steve was unable to launch the new Salon that was due today. Therefore we are continuing this one for another week, in spite of the somewhat flagging pace of the discussion. I hope to be able to post some more material on carbon dating soon. In the meantime, I urge participants to post more rugs whose age they wish to discuss. Also, perhaps Jim Allen can respond to the question of what he sees through the microscope that distinguishes really old rugs.
