: : Dear Everyone,
: : It is clear that there is disagreement among our readers about whether discussion of rugs currently for sale is appropriate. This is also a matter on which some of the TurkoTek Merrie Bande disagree, and I am in the process of polling the group in order to determine whether they want to have a policy restricting such discussion or to just leave it open.
: : I respectfully request that until I have the results of this little survey (I hope, by the end of the day), we suspend further commentary about specific dealers and their current offerings.
: : I would also like to hear the views of our readers, and will pass them on to the rest of the group for their consideration.
: : Thanks,

: We may be quibbling here. The operative paradigm where I work (just something to do to pay for rugs) is that "Everything is for sale".
: In other words, even if an item is not "on the market" it is for sale. It may be that the selling price has just not been established yet.
Dear Pat,
I couldn't agree more. I also would include in the "selling" those donations to museums which produce tax benefits.
