Dear Erol,
I'll try to clarify my use of the term "commercial motive".
When I alluded to misinformation on the web sometimes being based on a commercial motive, I meant that there are people with things for sale, and they sometimes misrepresent those things in order to make the thing appear more valuable than it really is.
TurkoTek calls itself a noncommercial site. What we mean by that is that we do not sell or promote the sale of anything, nor do we advertise or promote any business. Our motives are, in no particular order,
to educate ourselves and others about rugs and textiles and the peoples who made them
to promote the appreciation of rugs and textiles
to socialize in a particular way with others whose interests are similar
to generate and develop new thoughts on the subject from time to time
to provide a convenient source of information about rugs and textiles
There are probably others as well, but that's a reasonable start.
We do not oppose discussion of commercial aspects of rugs and textiles within the context of whatever topic is current, but those discussions should be of a general nature and not directed at some particular item or source of items.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Steve
