The closest things to revolutions in rugs in the second half of the 19th century are the growth of commercialization in tribal and rustic weaving and the introduction of synthetic dyes. I'm not sure whether I'd call these revolutions, although that would be a defensible position.

Was this what you had in mind, or is there something I'm missing?
