Dear Folks:

Incorporating a CD-Rom disc with the book is not a bad idea. I however, would think of utilizing the disc not to duplicate the photos but to provide supplementary information.

Consider having an outstanding Index which one could use the disc to word search the entire book text, etc. to pinpoint the page, paragraph for a particular point. How many times has one remembered reading about a specific and had trouble going back to the text and finding it?

How about using the disc for additional pictures, say the back of rugs, which would probably be too costly to incorporate in the book?

Instead of just citing reference material via footnotes and sources, the CD-Rom could actually show you the reference passage or page text, the photo of the rug, etc.

The CD would provide valuable info for the scholar/collector/dealer without making the book so heavy and thick that one could not curl up to it.

Regards,
Irwin
