Dear Friends,
Images that may represent human figures or may just look that way accidentally are commonplace on rugs. I thought you might enjoy this example.
It's a Kazak offered at Sotheby's a few years ago (Lot 82, December 1995). I thought it was kind of attractive, and brought my wife to where it was hanging. She didn't like it. "Why?", I asked. "I don't like looking at rugs that look back at me", she answered.
'Nuff said.
