Dear e-mail friends;

Some answers to recent queries.
I did not want to post careful scores, but emphasized
the tentative, rushed character of my scores, so
as not to intimidate anyone obtaining different
scores. As I have outlined in some detail in
previous communications, the checklist should be
treated as a first-order approximation. Non-scientists
are notoriously demanding, in that they want
everything together. Science does not work that way.
A small step in the right direction leads to
further developments that germinate into a well
defined topic of intellectual endeavor. If the
checklist found some merit in the eyes of the
expert audience of this salon, then that
validates the approach of Dr. Alexander in my
eyes. Please do not expect to be able to use
our criteria to judge rugs that are very
close in quality.

Incidentally, my friend Christopher has a Ph.D. in
Architecture from Harvard, so technically he is
a false Doctor, like myself. Neither one of us
is a real Doctor (MD).

Best wishes
Nikos
