: Dear John,
: I have done my homework and here are my scores.
: Ensi 1 = 14
: Ensi 2 = 19
: Ensi 3 = 8
: The rug I liked the best before doing this exercise was and still is Ensi 1.
: To answer and to understand (if it is possible) the questions, it asked me more then two hours not counting three other hours to make first my homework.
: It was interesting but using the formalist rules I would have selected a well balanced and spaced rug, but a rug without life (Ensi 2).
: Monday, a friend of me who is a rug dealer, call me to say me that he had found a very interesting caucasian rug.
: If I would have used the formalist rules I would never have bought this rug. It's a Shirvan rug with a wide main border containing a crab design on a white ground and the field contains rows of stylised flowers as in many Shirvan. Nothing special, a shirvan like another one if I would hve used the formalist rules !!
: But the colours of each flower enhanced by the corroded brown are exceptionnal and the best colors I have ever seen in a rug. I have directly bought it.
: This rug is a real dream!!
: Some restoration must be done and when it will be restored I will post a picture and direct scan in the show and tell page.

According to Daniel, this exercise of checklist rating, etc. had no real meaning or relevance to his choice of rugs. With the amount of time it took him to complete this exercise and the results attained, I ask you, all of you, WHY BOTHER?
