Dear Jerry,
My question is: How can there be too many rug conferences? If, in truth, there becomes too many, than folks will vote with their feet and just stay away. So far this is not happening. So, we must assume that there are just enough.
I do like your idea of a more casual gathering - gathering rather than conference - as well as the more formal conference. Gatherings would certainly be more fun. Good idea about the new rug books. Perhaps the publishers could be pressured to pay for expenses - that would hold costs down.
Lets do one and see where we go.
