KURDISH NORTH WEST PERSIAN RUGS?

The Nagel-Hali91 rug

Comments from Hali:

Nagel added yet another attribution: Armenia/North west Iran.

The tree of life design with stylised palmettes and small ornaments is similar to a Sauj Bulak Kurdish example, illustrated (plate 12) by Eagleton, although this rug had shiny wool and much livelier colours, very similar to those of the "proto-Kurdish" rug illustrated in Hali 70 (p.85).
