In your picture with the 3 weft floats marked, my guess is that each of these floats actually crosses 3 warps, not 2. Could you please look again? It looks to me like an error where one warp was not consistently raised by its heddle. (These wool warp yarns can easily stick together.) This occurs commonly, and is not a sign of crossed wefts, though the two kinds of details are very easily confused. Another clue: crossed wefts are normally scattered about, not lined up vertically.
