Thanks for enlarging the photo. You're right about the heading cord here. I appreciate that you've looked for these details. Now it will be interesting to see where else heading cords appear...especially if they turn up on any Iranian Kurd pieces.

I should qualify something I said before--that the presence of this detail doesn't tell us for sure whether the loom used was vertical or horizontal...That is true, but warping a loom by lashing heading cords to its beams would be quite a bit easier on a horizontal loom; thus this rug detail is more likely on nomadic products.
