I'm glad you mentioned my earlier post about "internal elems". Although it referred to a presentation by an unremembered author at ICOC in Hamburg, I'm sure that I was actually thinking of Shiv Sikri's presentation at ICOC Philadelphia.

This also provides me with an opportunity to reiterate the only test that I can think of for the issue of whether an Oops! is an error or an intentional irregularity. That is to look at the faces of intact pairs of saddlebags. If the Oops! is on both faces, it's surely not a slip. If, on the other hand, it's only on the face woven first (easy to tell with pile weavings), then it is almost surely an Oops!.
