: : The word "Khamseh" is derived from the Farsi word, "Kham", meaning "five.

: I cannot claim to be an authority on the derivation of the word 'Khamse', but it does mean five in Arabic ('khamesh' in the closely related Hebrew), so perhaps we don't need to invoke Farsi?

: Regards, Yon

Yon, You are correct, I believe. Five in Farsi is "panch" as it is also in Hindi and Urdu.
