Going to Egypt next week

Hello all, I will be traveling in Egypt for a few weeks. Wonder if anyone has experience there with Egyptian rugs?

Apparently, some reasonably fine silks (sometimes referred to as "Egyptian Herekes") are made in Egypt as well as a lot of rather low-quality stuff, mostly for the tourist market. Searching the online auction houses for carpet/rug Egypt may give some idea of what you may come across.

Have a great time and my only advice is to watch out for the scammers which are everywhere and if interested in a rug to go with the notion it may not be from there but elsewhere. The damp towel test should be helpful and it only needs a few seconds to work.
