Here is an interesting main rug found last year by my brother in law. He didn’t buy it, but sent me this pic. I feel it has a nice charm and harmonic colors. Age? I can only speculate early 20th c.
There are still good deals out there in at times, oddball places.
That's a Yomud main carpet. I'd guess it's age to be somewhere in the second half of the 19th century, almost certainly pre-Soviet. The colors have low contrast on my monitor, but a good bath would probably change that.
Thank you Steve. It’s a nice place at times to score an old piece for very good prices. We found a very nice Yomud rug there a couple of years ago sold by an elderly lady parting with family estate items.
