        Google Lens is better at paintings than carpets, I think. Your nice find has some similarities to a Karadja carpet my parents owned, although the colours and the overall impression of your rug is quite different.

          The white fringes are almost certainly the victims of a red dye that ran when wet. That also dates it to the first half of the 20th century. Be careful if you try to wash the rug.

            Marc,

            I don;t find a good analog for this piece in my books on Caucasian rugs. It doesn't look like a Kazak to me. Of any of the Caucasians, more like Armenian, maybe Yerevan ? And sometime in 1930-1960 ? I suppose it could be from NW Iran as well; I'll look through those books over the next fwe days.

            You might want to do some searches in the archives for comments by Filiberto on Caucasian rug structure.
