    We've loved traveling in Turkey, and the whole former Ottoman region -- Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina. That region keeps drawing us back.

      Since Erik Persson posted a Turkish Hereke piece from Sweden, I figured that I should contribute this Swedish flamskväv åkdyna (dovetailed tapestry cushion) from Australia
      This bebådelsen (Annunciation) design is still copied by handicraft weavers from purchased patterns, but this one was woven in a peasant household in Skåne some time in the first half of the 19th century.
