  • What ID for this rug?

I read an old discussion about Shahsavan pile rugs rarity and “the Italian rug”.. I have this rug and I would like to understand its ID and age, it is single wefted and has brown weft.. the selvedge (even if really worn out) tells Bakhtiari (so Lur/Bakhtiari) but then a lot of other elements point to other hands (like South Azerbaijan or NW Iran ..) .. so I am asking here about it. Thank you. And congrats for the new dress!!!

    Sorry for the mess, Chris.
I edited your post (I'll explain later why) and your text went after the images. Cannot put it back in front.
    I'll try again after lunch.

OK – your text is back at its place, now.

And congrats for the new dress!!!
Thanks. I wish it was so simple... All the new pretty bells and whistles and the utility to self-upload images, which takes away that task from us administrators...

Your post appeared very nice, with the thumbnails at the bottom. You click on them and you can get the full-size picture...

Which is all fine and dandy – until you try to save the page to your HD.

Note: It's twenty years that I am saving every page of Turkotek, just in case. Trouble happens, as the last PHP server upgrade demonstrates.

And I 'd like to continue to do that. But now I cannot save pages as “web page, complete” anymore because the images are saved only as thumbnails – no matter the size that is visible at the moment of saving.
The only solution I found so far is to “print as PDF” the page. But to do that I need the images to be visible at least at a medium size.

That's why I edited your page in accordance. And the software is rather recalcitrant, of course. First thing, it put the images before the text, putting it back was a struggle. I still didn't manage to enlarge a bit more your first image because the software stubbornly refuses to comply.

      Sorry for the digression.

Nice carpet. I don't know if it's a Shahsavan. Never learned how to recognize their pile weaving anyway...

      Regards,

      Filiberto
