Hello Friends,
Anyone can help me identifying this rug? It has no labels, nothing. it is sized 155 x 094 cm
Is this Iranian? It looks a bit diferent from iranian rugs, the colors i mean.
Thanks and regards
Thank you guys, Chuck, Eric an Joe. It is very likely an indian rug with random persian motif.
Besides the diferent weaving structure mentioned by Chuck, i also found the dyeing and the quality of the wool very diferent from persian i had seen. This corroborates with my thoughts.
Thanks for the help.
Rgds,
I don't know if it's still true, but at one time it was easy to identify Indian rugs by just running the back of your hand along the back of the rug. The Indo- rugs were very scratchy.
