Small Torba Saryk?

Here is a new to me piece and I am somewhat confused on the ID of it. My knowledge base on the Kejebe motif is limited to the Salor and Saryk yet the border looks Ersari. It is a little faded in the middle and has not been cleaned yet. It’s still in the decontamination center…the garage for now. No signs of moth damage and apparently has been in storage for the last 40 years.

As always, thanks for any suggestions on tribe affiliation or anything else.

It's hard to be sure, but if it's asymmetrically knotted it's probably Ersari, if it's symmetrically knotted it's probably Saryk. It looks to be too finely knotted to be Ersari and too "flattened' to earlier than the 20th century.

Hi Joe,

Another thing to look at is the yarn in the white knots; if it's cotton instead of wool that would push the attribution toward Saryk origin.

Thanks for all the assistance. It’s symmetrically knotted and I too believe it’s early 20th century.
